An invitation to a Flamenco Show, nothing better to do that afternoon, the effort might be worthwhile; just the very beginning of the Show, a dazzling dancer performs on stage; I cannot describe my excitement when I saw this great Dancer; suddenly, I could not take my eyes off him, each of his movement was so perfect, so careful, so delicate and precise: dancers and dancers appeared, about twenty on the scene some point, and he kept shining, drawing a trace of art behind him…

Theaters always leads me to a continuous state of reverie only shattered by those sharply applauses…

There was an Artist, the prodigious Dancer who reminded my passion for Dance. I thought that sooner or later one thing was sure to happen.

One day later I learned the meaning of the word “Serendipity”; this great artist was just one step from me, a mutual friend contacted us only two days later, this photo shoot is still work on progress, but the result fascinated me.

Photograph Dance makes you feel a great respect for Professional Dancers, those who involved their soul to breathe into their passion, who speak a language with a body filled of nuances, scheming signs or saturated and wet colors.

Never had painted some pictures this way, but I needed to bind the constant movement of my gaze, among dozens of arms, among bodies that I could hardly recognized; the room colors were almost melting like that July afternoon; the windows were fading between fuzzy shadows… nearly melted faces; an amalgam of fiery nightmare, reverie, heavy atmosphere and slow breathing.

The extreme high temperature almost made me faint…

This photoshot was one of the most bizarre I´d ever made …

Certain photographers are great at Audition Portfolios; some do prefer Backstage reportage or Rehearsals. Me, I’m passionate about Portraiture.

There are some dancers who captivates from the very beginning, since the ground trembles under their feet; they are breathing in another dimension, another level of energy and everything around them rises to that level, we took off the scene without much resistance to.

These photographs were a dance around the dancers; reflections of hands, arms, steps on the endless mirrors, music echoing, pulsing and vibrating. Some kind of Bliss.

Gala Vivancos is that “something else”.

The photo shoot was supposed to be quite simple; stage lighting, defining the mood, nothing but an emotional appearance on stage and a smoke machine, a couple of Professional Dancers; it was always so pleasant to work with them, because of their versatility, their immeasurable movements, their compositions, Art with no limits.

Flamenco dancing cannot be explained by words… these photographs are unpretentious Portraits, stillness and calm movements; smoke chasing them, emulating their silhouettes. I was yearning for a story to tell, not knowing that the story, itself, was looking for me to me to be lived.

Certainly, sometimes I wish I could go back to those days.

An anecdote … I was so absorbed in taking these photographs that forgot I was on stage … yes, I fell off the stage!

You ask whether your verses are any good. You ask me. You have asked others before this. You send them to magazines. You compare them with other poems, and you are upset when certain editors reject your work.

Now (since you have said you want my advice) I beg you to stop doing that sort of thing. You are looking outside, and that is what you should most avoid right now. No one can advise or help you – no one. There is only one thing you should do. Go into yourself. Find out the reason that commands you to write; see whether it has spread its roots into the very depths of your heart; confess to yourself whether you would have to die if you were forbidden to write.

This most of all: ask yourself in the most silent hour of your night: must I write? Dig into yourself for a deep answer. And if this answer rings out in assent, if you meet this solemn question with a strong, simple “I must”, then build your life in accordance with this necessity; your whole life, even into its humblest and most indifferent hour, must become a sign and witness to this impulse. Then come close to Nature.

Then, as if no one had ever tried before, try to say what you see and feel and love and lose. Don’t write love poems; avoid those forms that are too facile and ordinary: they are the hardest to work with, and it takes a great, fully ripened power to create something individual where good, even glorious, traditions exist in abundance.

So rescue yourself from these general themes and write about what your everyday life offers you; describe your sorrows and desires, the thoughts that pass through your mind and your belief in some kind of beauty

Describe all these with heartfelt, silent, humble sincerity and, when you express yourself, use the Things around you, the images from your dreams, and the objects that you remember.

So, dear Sir, I can’t give you any advice but this: to go into yourself and see how deep the place is from which your life flows; at its source you will find the answer to, the question of whether you must create.

Accept that answer, just as it is given to you, without trying to interpret it. Perhaps you will discover that you are called to be an ARTIST. [ … ]

My dear one, here I am, just writing a brand new Blog after dropping almost everything I wrote over the past months…

I decided to recover some fragments from the last Blog and rewrite it all again, on this new one, which meant to go through the same thing all over again… honestly, I was not that certain about that decision… but, I found myself writing all those articles back, to the new Blog.

In fact, there were some pictures with no real proper place, that much is certain, so here they found a reason to be present.

Nevertheless, my lovely Spencer, you assumed I was too far wrong… if this was supposed to be a different beginning, it had to mean a real new beginning… from now on to the rest of my days “characterised” as a Photographer.…

Words, pictures and a renewed and inspire denotation; now it is time for the sharpest change of all; it is about time to take the risk of living.

Thanks, my beloved Spencer, for bringing back the courage, the meaningful words, the huge desire of living a promise; thanks for this brand new beginning!
